Total Home installed 21 windows, a patio door, and a front door for us, and they did a great job. Vitaly offered a fair price and a high-quality product. The installation headed by Eugene and Said went smooth. Highly recommended.

The biggest pricing misconception we encounter is that all vinyl windows in the same style cost the same,” says Cherry Jian, Senior Sales Consultant at Total Home Windows and Doors. “Two casement windows that look identical on paper can differ by $150 or more based on the spacer system, the number of chambers in the frame profile, and whether the corners are fusion-welded or mechanically joined. Those production details are what separate a window that lasts 10 years from one that lasts 30.

Vinyl window options provide excellent value, combining affordability with energy performance. They require minimal maintenance and resist warping, making them ideal for Ontario’s climate.
Aluminum windows work well in modern homes and commercial applications. While they conduct more heat than vinyl, improved thermal
breaks make newer models much more energy efficient.
At Total Home Windows and Doors, we manufacture vinyl and aluminum windows in-house at our Ontario facility. This vertical integration — from extrusion to glazing to final inspection — allows us to control quality at every stage while keeping pricing competitive. Our manufacturing expertise, including proprietary TotalSeal technology and the Slim Flat Profile 2.78 system, is reflected in the performance and durability of every unit we produce.
Example pricing for a vinyl single casement window with various energy efficient upgrades:
According to Natural Resources Canada, air leakage through and around windows can account for a significant portion of total heat loss in Canadian homes. Upgrading to ENERGY STAR-certified windows with Low-E coatings and gas fills addresses this directly — and all Total Home windows meet or exceed ENERGY STAR requirements for the Canadian climate.
| Package | Small | Medium |
|---|---|---|
| Standard - Double Pane | $240 - $380 | $410 - $640 |
| Premium - Low-E | $290 - $450 | $490 - $760 |
| Premium - Argon Filled | $280 - $440 | $470 - $740 |
| Premium - Triple Pane | $340 - $530 | $570 - $890 |
Low-E coatings consist of thin, nearly invisible metallic layers applied to window glass. They block UV and infrared light while allowing visible light through, improving energy efficiency by reducing heat transfer and protecting interior furnishings from fading.
Multiple pane windows feature two or more layers of glass separated by a space filled with gas. This construction enhances insulation, improves energy efficiency and reduces noise transmission. The cost increases with the number of panes.
Multiple pane windows feature two or more layers of glass separated by a space filled with gas. This construction enhances insulation, improves energy efficiency and reduces noise transmission. The cost increases with the number of panes.
Alexandr Naumov, Project Manager at Total Home Windows and Doors, advises: “For most Toronto homes, the single best value upgrade is Low-E coating — it delivers the most noticeable impact on energy bills relative to its cost. Triple-pane is worth the premium for homes near highways or in exposed locations, but for a typical suburban property, a well-installed double-pane with Low-E and argon gas will perform excellently for decades.
A breakdown of expenses associated with window replacement, from essential factors beyond your control, such as installation method, to optional features like decorative options, which you can omit to save money.
Brick-to-brick installation entails the complete removal of old windows and frames, including surrounding brickwork, followed by the installation of new windows in freshly created openings. This method offers greater flexibility in window size and placement, allowing for customized designs to suit specific preferences. However, the process is more labor-intensive and time-consuming, as it involves additional construction work to accommodate the new openings.
Retrofit installation involves fitting new windows into the existing window frames without altering the surrounding structure. This method is characterized by its simplicity and efficiency, as it avoids the need for extensive structural modifications. Since it utilizes the existing framework, retrofit installation is generally easier and quicker to complete compared to brick-to-brick installation. Moreover, it often proves to be more cost-effective due to reduced labor and material requirements.
Our installation teams complete both brick-to-brick and retrofit projects daily across the GTA. The choice between them depends on the condition of the existing frame, the age of the home, and whether the homeowner wants to change the window size or style. During the consultation, our project managers assess the existing frame on-site and recommend the method that delivers the best long-term result — not just the cheapest option.
Tempered glass undergoes a specialized heating and rapid cooling process to increase its strength. It breaks into small, relatively harmless pieces upon impact, enhancing safety. Commonly used in applications prioritizing safety, such as shower doors and automotive windows.
Laminated glass consists of layers bonded with a protective interlayer. It enhances impact resistance and prevents shattering, reducing injury risk. Used in windows, doors, and skylights for improved security and safety.
Privacy glass options provide homeowners with the ability to control visibility while still allowing natural light to enter. From frosted to textured patterns, they offer privacy and ideal for bathrooms, bedrooms, or any space requiring seclusion.
Window color options offer versatility in design, allowing homeowners to match or complement their building’s exterior aesthetic. Whether opting for classic neutrals or bold hues, these options provide customization to enhance curb appeal.
Decorative grills or grids add visual interest to windows, providing architectural detail and character. Available in various styles, such as colonial, prairie, or custom designs, they offer a decorative touch while maintaining functionality.
Rosettes serve as decorative accents that add a touch of elegance to window frames. Available in different shapes and sizes, they enhance the overall aesthetic appeal of your windows, contributing to the beauty of your home’s interior and exterior.
Grills, also known as window grids, divide the window glass into smaller panes, adding visual interest and charm to your windows. Whether opting for traditional pencil grills, Georgian-style, or custom designs, grills offer versatility in enhancing your windows’ appearance.
The trim around the exterior of a window frame, providing a finished look and sealing against moisture and drafts. With various profiles and finishes available, the right brickmould enhances the overall appearance and complements your home’s architectural style.

| Bedroom | $450 - $1,200 | Medium-sized windows, usually double-hung or casement |
| Basement | $250 - $650 | Smaller windows, often hopper or sliding, some egress requirements |
| Dining Room | $800 - $1,800 | Medium to large windows, often matching living room style |
| Master Bedroom | $600 - $1,500 | Larger bedroom windows, sometimes multiple windows |
| Bathroom | $300 - $700 | Small windows for privacy, often frosted or awning style |

| Entryway/Foyer | $500 - $1,200 | Decorative windows, often sidelights or transoms |
| Stairwell | $400 - $900 | Tall or multiple windows for natural light on stairs |
| Walk-in Closet | $200 - $400 | Small windows if any, basic ventilation |

| Garage | $200 - $600 | Basic windows for natural light, utility grade |
| Workshop/Craft Room | $350 - $750 | Good lighting windows for detailed work |
These room-based ranges reflect typical project specifications we see across GTA homes. Kitchen windows tend toward smaller casement or awning styles for ventilation near countertops. Living rooms frequently call for larger picture or bay windows where natural light is the priority. Basement windows often involve egress requirements under the Ontario Building Code, which adds both sizing constraints and cost. Our consultants walk through each room during the in-home assessment to recommend the right style and size for each opening.
Complete home window replacement pricing varies by house size and complexity:
Industry data from the 2025 Cost vs. Value Report indicates that vinyl window replacement can recoup approximately 67–73% of project cost at resale. Combined with annual energy savings of $400–$700 for a typical GTA home, the full payback period on a well-planned window replacement project is typically 7–12 years.
| House Type | Sq Ft | Bedrooms | Bathrooms | Total Windows | Cost Range |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Small Bungalow (2BR) | 800-1,000 | 2 | 1 | 11 | $8,545 - $11,560 |
| Standard Bungalow (3BR) | 1,000-1,200 | 3 | 2 | 17 | $12,835 - $17,365 |
| Two-Story Home (3BR) | 1,200-1,500 | 3 | 2.5 | 23 | $18,870 - $25,530 |
| Large Family Home (4BR) | 1,500-2,000 | 4 | 3 | 32 | $24,415 - $33,035 |
| Executive Home (4-5BR) | 2,000-3,000 | 5 | 4 | 44 | $33,595 - $45,455 |
| Luxury Home (5-6BR) | 3,000-4,500 | 6 | 5 | 65 | $60,990 - $82,510 |
| Mansion/Estate (6+BR) | 4,500-8,000+ | 8 | 7 | 96 | $89,230 - $120,720 |
“When a homeowner is replacing 20 or more windows, the conversation shifts from individual window pricing to project-level planning,” explains Alexandr Naumov, Project Manager. “We look at the full scope — which windows face north versus south, where noise reduction matters most, which openings need full-frame work versus retrofit — and then build a specification that delivers the best performance per dollar across the whole house. That’s where the real savings happen, not in picking the cheapest window for every opening.”

Smart homeowners can significantly save money on their home improvement project while still achieving high quality windows. Here are proven strategies to reduce your cost of window replacement.
Instead of replacing a single window at a time, plan complete installations. Our windows company offers better price of windows when ordering multiple units, reducing per-unit costs and minimizing disruption.
Standard windows cost significantly less than custom sizes. Work with consultants to determine if standard dimensions fit your existing window frame openings, avoiding costly repairs and modifications.
When your existing frame remains sound, retrofit installation costs less than full replacement. This preserves interior trim and exterior brick moulds, reducing labor while delivering new windows performance.
Prioritize cost-effective upgrades like low e coatings over premium extra features. These deliver excellent ROI through reduced energy bills without dramatically increasing average cost for window replacement.
Custom colours and built in blinds add significant costs to standard windows. Consider if these custom features truly enhance value or if standard options meet your needs.
Fixed windows cost less than operating units for areas not requiring fresh air. Slider windows offer good value for larger openings, while awning windows work well for small bathroom window applications.
If budget limits project scope, replace windows in priority rooms first. Complete remaining installations when finances allow, spreading the window change cost over time.
Planning ahead prevents emergency costly repairs. Regular maintenance of window sash mechanisms helps identify issues before requiring immediate attention, allowing better pricing negotiations for your affordable window replacement.
Use the Canada Greener Homes Loan up to $40,000 for eligible installations. Our ENERGY STAR™ certified products qualify for $100 rebates per window opening.
Enbridge Gas and Save on Energy offer window rebates to help Ontarians improve home energy efficiency and comfort.
As Ontario’s premier windows company, Total Home Windows and Doors delivers exceptional value through innovative technology and comprehensive service for your affordable window replacement needs.
Our exclusive system revolutionizes window installation performance through multi-component heat transfer control. Unlike traditional single-point locks, our integrated system creates uniform seals across the entire window, preventing air infiltration.

Since 2007, we’ve completed over 28,000 window and door projects across the Greater Toronto Area — from single-window replacements to 50+ unit whole-house upgrades. Our 4.9 Google rating and Homestars Best of the Best recognition reflect consistent quality across every project scale. When you read the reviews on this page, you’ll notice the same names — Vlad, Nazar, Eugene, Said — appearing repeatedly. That’s because our installation teams are full-time employees, not subcontractors, and their craftsmanship is directly tied to our reputation.
Every window is manufactured at our 60,000 sq ft facility in Ontario using automated production equipment capable of producing 150 windows per day. This in-house manufacturing means we control every step — from vinyl extrusion and corner welding to glazing, sealing, and final inspection. For homeowners, this translates to consistent quality and shorter lead times. For pricing, it means fewer middlemen between the factory floor and your home.
Total Home installed 21 windows, a patio door, and a front door for us, and they did a great job. Vitaly offered a fair price and a high-quality product. The installation headed by Eugene and Said went smooth. Highly recommended.

An easy 5 star review for the Total Home Team. The quote, the timing, the efficiency, the communication, the window installation itself all went as planned. Nazar and the other installer were professional and quick. We only had budgeted for 5 windows and a door cut out and will use them again for the front door and windows, when the pocketbook allows.
We are very happy with our investment and the TH team.

Im very happy with my purchase of 10 windows from this company. The office was helpful in talking me thru my options and troubleshooting some design limitations. While i initially was disappointed that the installer could not provide larger sills on the wooden trim, in the end i am very happy with the updated look these windows give my home - inside and out!
Installers - Valery and Andre- worked consistently and politely thru completion. - an 11 hr and gruellingly hot day. - they left my home spotless. I am very happy with my double hung windows - i hope they last me a lifetime.

Nazar and his team exceeded my expectations. I fully recommend this team and company for ANY window or door renovation. They expanded my window and made a walk out for me that should have happened before I purchased this home. This is a dream come true.

We are completely happy with our new exterior door, windows and garage door, as supplied and installed by Total Home.
Our project manager Eugene was excellent from day 1 through completion, explaining everything clearly, always responding same day to questions. He provided us references of other projects in our community - these families were all very happy, years later, with their installations and each said the best part of their experience with Total Home was the top notch service they received. We feel exactly the same. Every aspect of the project (Eugene) and the installations (Nazar) were excellent. We would not hesitate to recommend Total Home, Eugene and Nazar, and in fact we hope to have them back for future work.

Had a great experience with my new glass unit installation at Total Home and Windows and Doors! Ended up super happy with the results.

For better privacy at home I opted to change from my clear glass to frosted. The installation was a quick and simple process.

Sales man Daniel was professional, courteous and honest. He gave us a very good price for our front door replacement. Dimitry and his installation team did a neat job and respected our privacy.
Our new Front door looks very nice

Total Home did a solid work, they replaced my windows and front Door, the quality and design are superb and The installers were quick, professional and cleaned up after themselves. Highly Recommended for general window replacement.

Eugene, Saïd, Bogdan, Andrew, and Dima did a great job. The crew was polite, on time, and the quality of their work is positively noticeable. Thumbs up Total Home.

What a beauty!! Thank you to Anatoliy Gadzevych and his team, Nazar & Maksym, at Total Home Windows and Doors for this beautiful fibreglass door! Installation was done well and so fast! I’m so happy! We were told the door will be done in the spring but it came so much faster! I’m one happy customer. Highly recommend this company! 😃

Bumped up from 2 stars to 4 stars because of our sales rep Alex who took care of the matter.
_______________________________________________________________
We replaced a total of 7 windows, with one positioned at a height of 16ft. Some windows had marks. The installer told me it wasn't scratches and could be cleaned with a paper towel. However, the mark on the 16ft-high window is too noticeable, and we can't reach it ourselves, requiring high altitude equipment. We don’t mind to clean the other 6 windows by ourselves, but just the one at 16ft high. The installer could clean it in 10 seconds, but now, the 10-second task needs to be done by a cleaning service, which starting at a minimum of $250 for just one 16 ft window!!!!!

Secondly, after all the windows were installed, the installer was doing the final cleaning, clearing the small wood chips and dust on the floor. It's the 21st century, and I don't understand why a professional window company didn't use an industrial vacuum cleaner instead of a broom. The wood debris and dust were only around the windows area, but the installer roughly and quickly swept with the broom, spreading dust throughout the entire house. A considerable amount of dust floated around, and we had to leave the house for several hours before returning to clean. If the installer had used a vacuum cleaner, it wouldn't have generated such a large amount of dust in the entire house.

Finally, we don't mind and already told the installer which washroom that they can use. However, the issue arose after the installer completed their installation and removed the dirty cloth from the floor, but then returned to use washroom with dirty shoes that they had walked into our backyard, carrying a lot of mud on their shoes. With the matter of the case, it should never happened as a professional company.

5-star experience with Vitaly from first meeting to the end of the project. We had our home windows replaced. Every aspect of the job was professional, up-front, clear, and all promises delivered! Installer Vasgen was also top in every way. I highly recommend Total!

I’ve decided to change some windows in my house, but also the glassing door of my balcony, as it got so squeaky.
So I searched on the internet to see different offers and compare them.
When I came across Total Home website, I found exactly what I am looking for. I contacted them, and they came just the day after. I explained to them what I wanted precisely, and they were paying attention to every detail, they suggested some interesting ideas, and gave me a detailed quote at the end.
The installation didn’t take that long, and the team was very professional and meticulous. I am very satisfied with the final result and would definitely recommend it.
